Westies in Need (WiN) works very hard to match our wonderful dogs with equally wonderful new families. Here are some of our success stories!
One of our little rescues was named Lilly - she was the worst case of skin problems we had ever seen when she arrived into our rescue program. The Pet Network saw her info on our website and asked if they could do a story on our Lilly and our rescue. Click here to watch the video of Lilly and her journey...they did a great job and we can't thank the Pet Network enough for supporting us! Lilly says THANKS too!
WELCOME 6 yr old Chi Chu who came to WiN through the Ottawa Humane Society.
Chi Chu has been fostering with Jackie and her family, who while dedicating their time to his behavioural training fell "Head over Heels" in love with him.
An update...Chi Chu has been adopted. His new name is Charlie....congratulations Charlie and new family
Amanda is a darling little Westie mix that arrived into our rescue from a puppy mill seizure and as you can see is making herself very comfortable in her foster mom's home!
An update...Amanda has been adopted. She has joined her "fur"ever family. Wishing you all the best sweet girl, you are going to be a very loved princess
Mina is a little Westie mix that has come to us from a puppy mill. She is so sweet and funny.
Mina needs a home with another dog to play with, a fenced yard and a family who is home all, if not most of the day (not out 8 hours working) and also a home with terrier experience-she sure is sweet but she is a handful....she is only 17 months old and has had no rules in her life, so she sure can be naughty when she wants to be!!!!
Tommy has come to us as an owner surrender when his family could no longer care for him. Our love and our thanks to them for trusting us and allowing us to find Tommy a perfect home.
Tommy is 9 years old, but acts like a 5 year old!!!! He loves his walks and rides in the car so well!

An update...Ranger has been adopted. He really loved his foster home so much that he asked if he could please stay and live there forever and everyone said YES!!!!
Welcome Mac to Westies in Need. As you can see he is ADORABLE and is 11 years old (however his foster Mom says he is "more like 11 going on 6" as he has TONS of energy)
He is being fostered in the Toronto area and when we get to know him a bit better we will begin to go through our current applications to find him just the best home. Mac walks well on his leash, loves other dogs and is very loving!
An update...Mac has been adopted. He met Tina and Rod and he just knew that they were the perfect family for him!

An update...Roxi has been adopted. She and her new Mommy are such a perfect pair!
A big WELCOME to 7yr old Cody who was turned over to our rescue by the Ottawa Humane Society. Cody was taken to OHS when his folks could no longer afford his vet care and as you can clearly see ... he NEEDS our help!!!!
Cody is fostering in Ottawa and will be seeing our vet pronto!
Hang in there lil' buddy .. it will take a little time but we'll have you feeling better soon
An update...Cody has been adopted. His new family are so excited to welcome into their home and will continue to work with us closely to continue his amazing improvement with his skin issues.
Kiahna is a 5 year old girl who has come to us from a puppy mill. She is now spayed, so no more babies for our girl! She is a gentle and lovely girl who loves all people and would do best in a home with no other dog.
An update...Kiahna has been adopted. She met Guna and her family and knew it was a perfect fit!
Sweet Lily has come to us from a puppy mill. She is only about 4 or 5 years old and is such a lovely girl. She gets along with other dogs and ALL people and is having such a good time in her foster home.
She came to us with her fur shaved down, we are not sure why, as he coat is perfect!!! But no worries, Westie fur grows quickly and she will be in her full Westie cut shortly!
An update...Lily has been adopted. She will be the forever girl of Sameera and her family!!!!
Jack, and his brother Casper, were taken from a mill in Ohio and are now now free! The boys are only 16 weeks old and they are such a cute pair and we could not be happier that they are now safe in our care!
An update...Jack and Casper have been adopted. Jack is now living with Lesley and her family and he even got a new Westie big brother to play with named Finley!
Casper is having a wonderful time with Sabrina in his new and "fur"ever home

An update-November 29th, 2017: Sweet Princess has been diagnosed with both dry eye and Westie Lung disease...unfortunately her life expediency will be only about 1-2 years. There will be no adoption donation required if you would like to adopt her…we would love to just have a final home for her.
Sweetie is a very pretty 2 1/2 year old female Westie who has come to us from a Vet clinic where she was surrendered. The ladies at the clinic started calling her Sweetie, because that is exactly what she is!
She is now spayed and up to date with her shots and had her teeth cleaned and will be having a bit of relaxing at her foster home for a few days and then will be ready to meet a new family!
An update...Sweetie has been adopted. This most darling of Westies has found a new and "fur"ever home!

An update...Max has been adopted. He just loved his foster home so much....he decided to stay!!!!
Welcome 9 yr old Maggie to our rescue...her owner was no longer able to care for her so she was surrendered into our rescue, along with her brother Max.
Maggie is being fostered in the Ottawa area. She is booked for a full health exam and then she will go back to the Vet for her spay...no more baby making for Maggie...her only job now will be to be loved and cuddled!
Maggie has a fear of men, so we will be looking for a home for her with ladies only!
An update...Maggie has been adopted. She and Sandra are a match made in heaven!
Old Blue Eyes...
OK...this one is not really a WiN Westie
... but when we found this old picture of Frank Sinatra with a sweet little Westie, we just knew we had to put it on our website, somewhere!!!
Can you blame us???
